There has arguably been an impact on referee decisions and results since premier league games have been played behind closed doors. This blog will provide quick insights on the impact of crowd support in the premier league.

There has been a penalty every 3 games with no crowd support in stadiums as opposed to every 4.5 games with crowds- Martin Tyler

1) The Average Home wins for 20/21 decreased by 8% as compared to 19/20

2) The Average Away wins for 20/21 increased by almost 8% as compared to 19/20

3) The Mid table/Bottom half teams won more away games in 20/21 as compared to any of the last 7 seasons.

4) The so called 'Top 6', Mid Table and Bottom Half teams lost more home games than usual in 20/21. Bottom half teams & Top 6 teams lost more home games on average than in any other season

5) Away Wins impacted by Crowds more than no crowds. Contrary, ‘NO’ crowds contributed to lower home wins than with crowds

6) The Average number of Away goals scored by all teams in under categories (Top 6, Mid table, Bottom Half) all increased in 20/21. The Top 6 teams struggled to score at home as the Average Goals scored at home were the lowest in 20/21
